Earmark a gift arrow_forwardPrograms are strategically designed to dismantle the psychological barriers that impede personal and economic progress. Through confidential Safe-Space Counseling for young women facing early motherhood or violence, and Peer Support Groups that foster resilience, individuals no longer navigate their challenges in isolation.
Our holistic approach integrates wellness coaching into vocational training — like tailoring — to build confidence for entrepreneurship, alongside Crisis Intervention that opens immediate pathways to specialized clinical care.
By addressing the great effect where poverty and ill-health take root in a hopeless mind, these initiatives restore the ability of youth to pursue education and healthcare. We empower single mothers, equip adolescents with emotional tools, and strengthen the wider Wakiso community.

Resilience built shoulder to shoulder.
Wellness coaching woven into skilling.
Pathways to specialized clinical care.
In Uganda, nearly 1 in 4 girls aged 15-19 has begun childbearing — a reality that often triggers a domino effect of school dropouts and lost vocational momentum, trapping young women in a cycle of poverty.
Held at Heart Uganda fills the vacuum left by fragmented public youth-friendly corners by providing mobile health services and non-judgmental safe spaces in Wakiso. Accurate information on menstrual hygiene, abstinence and contraception directly combats the high adolescent contribution to pregnancy-related deaths (17.6%) and reduces the risk of unsafe abortions and obstetric fistula.
Our strategy blends livelihoods with SRHR — protecting the human capital developed through skilling initiatives, and aligning with the Uganda Ministry of Health's 2025/2026 guidelines to reap a demographic dividend.
We empower single mothers with entrepreneur skills like tailoring and soap making to enable them generate income and take care of their families. Skilling is paired with wellness coaching so that confidence — not just competence — moves with them into the marketplace.

We identify orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) from slum and rural areas of Wakiso and Kampala District. These children are bright, but their families can't afford to sustain them in school.
We currently provide scholastic materials and contribute half of their school fees for 10 pupils in primary. Partner with us so we can reach more children back to school.
